Three members of the MHS girls’ golf team secured top-15 finishes at the Northeast Conference golf tournament. The tournament was hosted at Whetstone Creek Golf Course in Milbank on Monday, May 17.
Marion Mischel led the Lady Bulldogs with a third-place finish. She shot a final 18-hole round of 88 (44-44). Ella Kasuske landed in 10th place with a 108 (49-59). Shaylee Schuchard finished in 15th place with a 114 (57-57). Camila Monroy carded a 126 (57-69), and Jaclyn Wiik shot a 127 (58-69).
“One of the greatest aspects of golf is there are a lot of firsts to be had,” stated Milbank’s head coach, Mark Keeton. “Your first par, first birdie, first time breaking 120, breaking 110, and first hole-in-one to just name a few. This young team has been continuing to improve all year and adding a lot of those firsts along the way.”
Milbank’s team total was 436. Sisseton was crowned the NEC champion with a 368. Aberdeen Roncalli was the runner-up with a 415. Redfield took third with a 434. Groton did not field a complete team.
