The Milbank Post 9 Legion baseball team swept Groton Post 39 in double-header action in Groton on June 17. In the first game, Kaden Krause threw a no-hitter to help Post 9 win by a score of  9-0.  Krause pitched five innings and struck out 10 batters to lead Post 9 to their ninth victory of the year.

Milbank’s bats warmed up in the top of the fourth inning and they racked up eight runs. Post 9’s offense was led by Merik Junker who tallied three hits and one RBI. Kaden Krause and Sage Locke recorded two hits each.  

In game two, Micah Dietmeier took the mound for Post 9. He pitched four innings and struck out four batters. He allowed only two runs. Cole Swenson came in in relief in the fifth inning. He was credited with the win after Milbank was able to push a run across the plate in the top of the sixth to take the lead. Post 9 won by a final decision of 3-2.
Swenson pitched two innings and struck out four batters. He allowed no hits and no runs. Milbank’s offense was led by Kellen Hoeke who had three hits and one RBI.
