Eric Sandbulte, Brad Hansen, and Casey Yamaura took first place in WVRA’s team penning event on Saturday, June 19. The team finished in a time of 54.1. Don Peterson, Monte Rosen, and Dave Hardie placed second with a time of 1:07.9. Right behind them, with a time of 1:08.8, was the third-place team of Milt Stengel, Jason Arndt, and Lonnie Schrunk. According to Joanie Hills of WVRA, “The cattle definitely were the winners in the sorting event. Of the 14 teams who attempted the sorting, only three teams got it done.”
First place went to the team of Casey Yamaura, Kelly Peterson, and Don Peterson. They sorted all seven head in a time of 1:04.8. Second place was captured by Craig Magedanz, Brad Hansen, and Eric Sandbulte. They sorted the seven head in 1:07.2. Eric Sandbulte, Jason Arndt, and Jacky Arndt made up the third and last team to sort all seven. They got it done in 1:24.5.
The next two-man sort at the arena is this Sunday, June 27. It will be followed by a two-man sort on July 18 and one on July 25. The next team penning event will be held on July 10. July 31 is the new date for the penning event that was postponed earlier this season.
