The Milbank 14U Junior Teener baseball team defeated the Sisseton 14U Junior Teeners in a double header on June 24 by scores of 13-5 and 12-0. Milbank has now won six of their last eight bouts.
In Game 1, Milbank pushed four runners across the plate in the first frame and sent nine more runners home in the next three innings. Owen Tesch, Reese Rabe, and Carter Gloe led the Milbank offense in Game 1 with two hits apiece. Joe Schulte batted in three runs. Rabe earned the win on the mound. He pitched four innings and allowed only four runs. He struck out 10 batters.
In Game 2, Milbank’s Josh Pederson ruled on the mound. He threw his first no-hitter of the season. Pederson pitched three innings and struck out six batters. Pederson, along with Owen Tesch, Joe Schulte, and Lucas DeBoer, led Milbank’s offense with two hits each. Caleb Pillatzki, Ryan O’Farrell, and Daniel Shelstad added one hit apiece to Milbank’s total of 11.
