Milbank’s Post 9 Legion Baseball Team split a double header with Castlewood Post 250. Post 9 fell in the first game 12-2 and won the second game by a score of 10-8.
In Game 1, Post 9 fell behind early. Going into the bottom of the fifth, they trailed 11-0. In the fifth, they chipped away at Castlewood’s lead when Justus Osborn hit a two-RBI double to left center. But, this was all the offense Post 9 would produce, and Milbank fell 12-2.
In Game 2, Post 9 got on the board early. They piled up eight runs to take the score to 8-5 after one inning of play. They tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the second. That proved to be enough to secure the victory. Milbank defeated Castlewood by a score of 10-8.
Kaden Krause, Merik Junker, Kellen Hoeke, Isaac Schulte, and Mikey Karges each added a hit to Milbank’s total of five. Krause earned the win on the mound. He pitched 4 2/3 innings, struck out seven batters, and allowed eight runs.
Post 9’s season record now sits at 12-3 as they head into July.
