The food giveaway sponsored by the Grant County Christian Service Council (GCCSC) on August 18 helped 295 area families. According to Brenda Maass of GCCSC, 715 individuals from 16 communities received food.
Maass says,”Feeding South Dakota again provided the food at no charge to the Grant County Christian Service Council. For this drive, we were given 23,477 pounds of food.”
The food was efficiently distributed in one hour with the help of 52 volunteers from seven area churches. Valley Queen, Ameriprise Financial, and Knights of Columbus also offered assistance.
