Joyce Jeanette (Standfuss) deNeui was born on April 8, 1929, in Olivia, MN, to Albert and Helen (Zapp) Standfuss. She grew up in the Renville, MN, area and attended Renville schools.

On June 13, 1953, Joyce was united in marriage with Marlton “Bud” deNeui in Renville, MN, and they resided in Renville for several months. They farmed near Chokio, MN, for 13 years. In 1972, Joyce and Bud made their home on a farm east of Clinton, MN, where they farmed for many years. Joyce was a great mother and housewife. She maintained the household while helping Bud with the farm work as well.  Joyce worked as a waitress in Chokio and in Clinton. She also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 17 years at Good Samaritan Home in Clinton. Following retirement, Joyce volunteered with Rice Memorial Hospice Care.

Joyce’s faith was important to her. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church near Clinton and later became a member of Trinity-Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Johnson. Joyce was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and worked at many Ladies’ Aide church activities.

Joyce enjoyed baking and was an excellent cook. She could be found in her flower garden on warm, Summer days. Most importantly, Joyce loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
