The Lady Bulldogs varsity volleyball team lost to Hamlin on Thursday, September 16. Set scores were 19-25, 16-25, and 11-25.
MHS Coach Nancy Hoeke summed up the game by saying, “After a good first set, it seemed like Hamlin got warmed up and made it extra difficult for us. It was a much faster paced game than we’ve played lately.” Hoeke went on to say, “Hamlin is an excellent team with unstoppable hitting and defense. They get at least two touches on every ball, not to mention their blocking and serving.”
The Lady Bulldogs still came through with 43 of 48 serving for 90 percent. Hallie Schulte was 9-9. Addisyn Krause was 10-11, including Milbank’s one ace of the match.
Skyler Skoog went 10-10, Casside Seezs was 6-7, and Averie Engebretson 5-6.
Rachel Schulte led the team with six kills. Skoog followed with four, and Shaylee Schuchard had three. Krause helped them out with 10 assists. Camryn Wiese had three assists and Avery Engebretson had two.
H. Schulte kept things rolling with 14 digs. R. Schulte, Seezs, and Emily Wollschlager each had six digs.
