The Bulldogs traveled to the cross country Clyde Cotton Huron Invitational at Broadland Creek Country Club on Saturday, September 18. The Lady Bulldogs took 10th place as a team and the boys brought home ninth place.

Senior Nick Batchelor placed the highest for Milbank. He clocked in at 16:24:85 to earn third place.  Ashlynn Batchelor, an eighth grader, came in at ninth place for the Lady Bulldogs at 19:55:92. 

Boys 5K Varsity Run As a team, the Bulldogs scored 221 to bring home ninth place. Their total time was 1:33:03:30, and they averaged 18:36:66.  Aberdeen Central won with 77 points. They had a total time of 1:28:13:37 and an average of 17:38:68.  Sioux Falls Christian was second with 83 points; Brandon Valley third at 109; Pierre T.F. Riggs fourth at 123; and Brooking fifth at 128.

Isacc Develaar from Sioux Falls Christian was the individual winner with a time of 16:17:86. Keenan Urdiales from Spearfish took second place with a time of 16:20:53.

Bulldog Payton Brown came in at 38th place with a time of 18:19:67: James Batchelor, 48th at 18:35:79; Isaac Graham, 67th at 19:16:59; Bryan Meyer, 85th at 20:26:40; Grant Van Peursem, 96th at 21:24:50; and Jack Sandvig, 98th at 21:24:50.

Girls Varsity 5K Run As a team, the Lady Bulldogs took 10th place with 227 points.  Brandon Valley was the first-place winner with 72 points; Sioux Falls Lincoln was second with 79; O’Gormon was third with 83: and Chamberlain was fourth with 132 points.

The individual winner, Alea Hardie of O’Gorman, clocked in at 17:59:09. 
Milbank’s Maurina Street came in at 49th place at 22:22:93; Maiah Brown, 67th at 23:25:09; Ellie Neugebauer, 74th at 23:46:67; Tyra Berry, 75th at 23:49:46; Kynlee Speidel, 82nd at 24:18:98; and Ashlyn O’Farrell, 86th at 25:06:74.

Eric Townshend, head coach for the Bulldogs said, “The Clyde Cotton Invite was an awesome chance to compete against mostly AA schools. Both teams ran pretty well…We need to stay healthy and improve each week.”
