Jonathan DeBoer hit a hole-in-one at the Valley View Country Club in Sisseton on September 23.  His lightning strike came on the third hole using a nine iron.

DeBoer also led the Bulldogs by tallying a 90 and taking seventh place at the meet. The Bulldogs brought home second place.  As a team, they scored 403.
MHS coach Mark Keeton said, “This was our last tune up before Regions.  The highlight of the day was Jonathan DeBoer carding a hole-in-one… The greens in Sisseton always seem to give the golfers fits, and this trip was no exception.

Bulldogs scores included: Jonathan DeBoer –90 – Seventh place Justus Osborne –102 Charlie Peery — 103 Joshua Keeton — 108 Gregory Grabow — 110 Owen Fischer — 112

Milbank at the Region 1A Meet in Madison  Bulldogs Jonathan DeBoer and Owen Fischer qualified for the 2021 South Dakota State Golf Meet during the Region 1A meet at Madison on September 27. DeBoer tied for third place with an 83. Owen Fischer tied for 22nd place with a 98. 

The cut to make it into the state meet was 98 and three MHS golfers just missed it: Josh Keeton – 102 – 27th place Charlie Peery – 104 – 28th place Gregory Grabow – 116 – 39th place

As a team, the Bulldogs took fourth place. They compiled a score of 387.
Coach Keeton said, “I couldn’t be prouder. All year, we talk about improving and playing your best at the region meet, and these boys did not disappoint. The five boys as a group improved 60 strokes since early August, and they improved their team score by 39 strokes.” 

Keeton added, “As a team, we missed slipping into the third spot by just six strokes. That would have qualified us (for State) as a team, but I’m very excited for Jonathan and Owen. They both qualified for the state tournament in Madison next Monday and Tuesday.  As a coach, I’m also looking forward to seeing what this young group can do in the future.”
