Bulldogs Attend Ortonville Cross Country Meet

The Bulldogs took a short road trip to compete in the cross country meet at Ortonville on September 27. Stella Wendland brought home the highest place for either of the varsity teams. She came across the line in the 5K meet at 23:58 to earn 10th place. Will Karels took 28th place for the boys at 23:12, and Ryan O’Farrell came in at 30th at 23:57.
Cadyn Vanderwal of Ortonville won the boys’ meet. He came in at 18:22. Charles Hanson of Morris was second at 18:47, and Jacob Cloos of Ortonville took third at 19:02.
Brooklyn Conrad of Ortonville was the first-place runner for the girls. She recorded a time of 20:34. Hailey Werk of Morris took second at 20:43, and Sidney Duininck was third at 22:02
For the Lady Bulldogs, Jaiden Tillotsen was 17th at 25:18; Jaclyn Wiik was 18th at 25:28; Julia Wiik was right behind her at 25:29; and Elexia Quintanilla was 20th at 25:46.
Zayda Townsend clocked in at 26:20 for 24th place; Savanna Osowski was 26th at 26:28; Sophia Gastineau, 27th at 27:21; and Addie Farrell, 37th at 30:12.
Middle School Boys 2K and Middle School Girls 2K
Macy Mueller took second place for the Lady Bulldogs in the junior high division. She ran it in 8:32. For the boys, Parker Grabow came in at 8:10 to earn fourth place.
Ava Sichmeller was fourth for the girls with a time of 8:44. Yanderyn Olivares was sixth at 9:22. The Bulldog boys nearly all came in together as Beckham Berry brought home fifth place for the boys at 8:11, and Mason Allen was sixth at 8:13.
Eric Townshend, head coach for Milbank, said, “We ran pretty well against some different Minnesota schools. The weather was warmer than we were used to, but we competed hard. Both the boys and girls teams, JV and varsity runners, are in a great position to finish the season strong.”
