Phyllis was born on February 20, 1940, in Revillo, SD. She was the daughter of Arthur and Viola (Peterson) Behlings. She was later united in marriage with Delton Silberstein in June of 1980.

Phyllis enjoyed raising her children. As the children grew up, she enjoyed traveling with Delton and fishing off the dock. She spent most of her adult life caregiving for family. She was a very competitive card player and loved hosting card parties. Farkle was another favorite game and she loved to dance. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed a good family reunion. It was important to her to stay connected to friends and family. She treasured her time going to visit the people she loved, sharing a good conversation over a cup of coffee.

She had a wonderful, vibrant, sassy personality. She was fun to be around and time with her was filled with laughter and joy. She was witty and always had a comeback. Phyllis was a very compassionate woman who had a heart of gold. She remained as independent as she could through her final days. She was always ready for an adventure. Above all, she loved her Lord and was faithful in her Bible study.
