Troy Weeding

Troy Weeding, formerly of Ortonville, died Tuesday, December 7, in Coon Rapids, MN.

 A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 11, at 3:00 p.m., at Living Hope Fellowship Church in Ortonville. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Clinton City Cemetery in Clinton, MN.

Troy was born to Eugene and Janet (Homrighausen) Weeding on February 20, 1966.  He grew up in Ortonville and graduated from Ortonville High School in 1984.  After graduation, he attended vocational school and went on to work at RMS as a machinist for over 20 years.  Troy was very detailed and loved the challenge of setting up the machines and turning out a perfect piece.  He enjoyed many years of hunting, trap shooting, and shooting pool with his friend Paul Dufresne whom he met at RMS.  Paul, Paul’s wife, and kids were a very special family to Troy.

Troy has always enjoyed his time hunting and fishing, especially the early years of the annual father/son fishing trips; there were always great stories to be shared upon their return!  As much as Troy enjoyed the outdoors, you could also find him kneeling on the floor helping his sisters Heidi and Stacy by putting together one of their latest barbie assemblies.  Troy enjoyed music throughout the years but likely he is best remembered, with many smiles, the way he could belt out a Johnny Horton tune thanks to his mother’s constant stream of vinyl playing on the old console AM/FM Tuner.

Troy is survived by his father, Eugene Weeding of Wilmot, SD; sisters: Vicki (Dan) Oakes of Ortonville, MN; Heidi Weeding of Ortonville, MN; Stacy (Isaiah) Longnecker of Ortonville, MN; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his mother Janet Weeding.
