Gladys Marie (McCulloch) Folk was born on August 4, 1927, in Milbank, SD, to Lester and Lucille (Kelly) McCulloch. She attended school in Milbank and graduated from Milbank High School. She married Edward Folk at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank on November 20, 1947.
After their marriage, Gladys and Ed lived in Watertown, SD, and at a farm in Roberts County, SD, for a short time. They soon established their family farm north of Milbank, where Gladys lived until November of 2019. She has resided at Wellshire Park Place since then.
Gladys was a devoted housewife, farmwife, homemaker, and mother to six children. She worked hard baking, and gardening and canning her annual produce from the farm. She was very strong in her faith and always positive with encouraging words for all that knew her; this was admired and loved by her family. She loved to host the family Christmas celebration for her family and to celebrate family milestones with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the chance to visit with her extended families at the Folk/Giessinger family reunions and the McCulloch family get-togethers. In her later years she liked to watch game shows, attend activities at Park Place, and work on her daily Sudoku puzzle. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great- grandkids.
Gladys is survived by children: Glenn (Barb) Folk of Milbank, SD; Linda (David) Pauli of Milbank, SD; Duane (Gail) Folk of Milbank, SD; Renae Espland of Sioux Falls, SD; thirteen grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; brothers: Melvin McCulloch and Jerome McCulloch; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed in 2018; sons: Warren and Steve; grandson, Erik Folk; brothers: Lyle McCulloch and John McCulloch; and sister, Janice Schultz.
