Anderson Pumps in 31 Points to Defeat Ortonville

Isabella Anderson wowed the crowd by pumping in 31 points to launch the Lady Bulldogs to a 67-47 victory over the Ortonville Lady Trojans on Monday, January 31, in Milbank. It was the third win in a row for the Lady Bulldogs. 

Three was I. Anderson’s favorite number all night. Along with her 31 points, she had three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Maurina Street added another 17 points and took care of five rebounds.

The Lady Bulldogs dominated the offense by firing in 22 points in the second quarter and 18 in the third. Ortonville came roaring back to score 20 in the fourth, but it was a classic case of too little, too late. 

Lady Bulldog Tyra Berry added to the scoring with six points and three steals. Tatum Berry made three steals, and she and Shaylee Schuchard each added four points. Claire Snaza and Averie Engebretson dropped in two apiece. Siera Wenzl made a free throw and pulled off four steals. Snaza also brought down five rebounds. Engebretson snared four rebounds and completed two steals .

The Lady Bulldogs hit 24 of 60, including four of 12 from behind the arc, for a total of 40 percent shooting. They also downed 10 of 17 from the free throw line for 65 percent.

Ortonville’s top scorers were Kendall Gronholz with 11 points, Emma Anderson with 10, and Kadyn Gronholz with nine. Kelly Erickson added seven points along with three steals. Taylor Ross dropped in six, McKenzie Huebner and Brooklyn Evenon each connected for two.

Ortonville shot 60 percent of their three-pointers and finished the game at 41 percent shooting overall. They hit 10 of 17 free throws for 65 percent.
