Lady Bulldogs Win Tussle with Lady Tigers at 38-35

In a game of hoops that went down to the wire, Milbank defeated Groton on Thursday, February 10, in front of their home crowd. The final score was 38-35. Lady Bulldog Tyra Berry was the top scorer in the game with 14 points.  She found her sweet spot in the corner to drop in three three-pointers. She also made five of her seven free throws and added three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Isabella Anderson was also hot from three. She pumped in two from beyond the arc and added a rebound and a steal. Maurina Street led the team in rebounds. She had 10 to go with her nine points. Claire Snaza put up five points and added a nice block. Tatum Berry and Siera Wenzl each added two rebounds.

Overall, the Lady Bulldogs nailed nearly 28 percent of their field goals and 11 of 20 free throws for 55 percent. The Lady Tigers hit a similar percentage of field goals at 26 percent, but were impressive from the charity stripe. They made nine of 10 to chalk up a rate of 90 percent.

None of the Groton players reached double figures. Sydney Leicht and Brooke Gengerke each scored eight points. Gengerke’s total included two good three-point bombs.  Alyssa Locke made seven points and added three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Aspen Johnson led the Lady Tigers in rebounds. She pulled down eight.
