MHS Wrestlers Punch Tickets to State Meet

Bulldog wrestlers Owen Fischer, Jacob Johnson, Kaden Krause, Barrett and Jesse Schneck, and Layton Raffety secured their spot in the state wrestling meet during the Region 3A meet on Saturday, February 19, in Milbank. Joseph French will be an alternate. 

Milbank took fifth place at the regional meet. As a team, they scored 107 points. Pierre won the meet with 278.5 points. 

The final team scores included: 1. Pierre— 278.5  2. Mitchell—195.5  3. Chamberlain—179.5.  4. Aberdeen Central—167.5.  5. Milbank—107.   6. Huron— 99.5.  7. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte— 26  8. Todd County— 25  

For the Bulldogs: At 106 pounds, Owen Fischer placed fourth and scored 12.0 team points. At 120 pounds, Jacob Johnson placed third and placed 16.0 team points. At 132 pounds, Nolan Sheeley placed six and scored 3.0 team points.

At 138 pounds, Kaden Krause placed third and scored 10.0 team points. At 145 pounds, Joseph French placed fifth and scored 7.0 team points. At 160 pounds, Barrett Schneck placed third and scored 14.0 points. At 170 pounds, Jesse Schneck placed third and scored 15.0 points.

At 182 pounds, Layton Raffety placed third and scored 14.0 points. At 195 pounds, Carter Gloe placed sixth and scored 3.0 team points.

At 220 pounds, Maddox Hanson placed fifth and scored 10.0 team points. At 285 pounds, Landon Novy placed sixth and scored 3.0 team points.
