Milbank lost the Battle of the Bulldogs 54-62 on February 21 in Madison, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a fun game to watch.

After Milbank got off to a slow start and trailed 0-8 in the early part of the first quarter, they brought out their big guns. Stevie Ash ripped down a three-pointer to get Milbank back in the game and sparked a trend. By the time the final buzzer blew, Milbank had racked up 12 three-point shots. Ash led the pack with four three-point bombs. Justus Osborne, Bennett Schwenn, and Kellen Hoeke had two apiece. Garrett Mertens and Jaxson Wildung each added one. Milbank was also hot from the charity stripe. They converted 10 of 12 for 83 percent.

Their initial eight-point deficit, however, seemed to haunt them. Every time they made a run, Madison pushed back. Milbank trailed 29-36 at halftime and despite catching up at 41-42 at the end of three, they never grabbed the lead. Part of the reason included Madison’s, Aiden Jensen. Jensen piled up 28 points and took down 15 rebounds.
