Boys’ Tennis Team Downs LQPV in First Home Match of the Season

The Bulldogs’ varsity tennis team defeated Lac qui Parle Valley (LQPV) 6-3 in their first match of the 2022 season at Cantine Courts in Milbank. The JV team also netted a victory against the Eagles at 8-1, and the middle school team won 4-2.

Coach Abbey Trapp noted the large number of fans who attended and said, “It was fun to have a full house to play in front of.”
In varsity singles play, Joe Schulte at No. 2, tied Liam Risch at 9-9 and then defeated him 7-2. At No. 3, Greg Grabow defeated Gavin Stulz 10-3. Charles Whitesitt at No.4, defeated Wyatt Wiebe 10-3.  At No.5, Will Snaza defeated Levi Olson 10-4. Milbank suffered two losses: Bennett Street at No. 1, was downed by Jackson Buer 2-10, and Daniel Shelstad at No 6 was defeated by Matt Martinson 6-10.

In doubles play, Street and Schulte took down Buer and Risch. Grabow and Whitesitt were defeated by Stulz and Martinson, and Snaza and Isaac Korstjens defeated Wiebe and Olson.
