St. Lawrence School will present their spring program on Wednesday, May 4. Two sessions will be offered in the school gym. One will be at 1:30 p.m. and one at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

According to music instructor Elizabeth Schulte, “This year’s program will feature songs of prayer and praise.” Fifth graders will perform “Christ Be Our Light” on tone chimes, followed by the sixth graders chiming “Shalom Chaverim.” Third graders will play “Sanctus” on their recorders and fourth graders will play “Amazing Grace.”

The sixth graders will play ukeleles to accompany their kindergarten buddies who will sing “Companions on the Journey.”  Preschoolers and kindergarteners will sing “Jesus Loves Me,” and the first and second graders will showcase the school’s handbells. The upper grades will sing two choral arrangements that feature two and three-part harmony. Soloists include: Rylan Wendland, Andrew Karels, Raina Untalan, Addison Brown, and Kara Fonder.

Schulte says, “A theme in our music room this year has been these words from Ephesians 5:19: “Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord.”  She says, “The program will conclude with Allen Pote’s “Alleluia” which echoes our theme using these words: “…and with a cheerful voice, sing Alleluia. Sing it from your heart; make your life a song to God!”
