The Bulldogs’ tennis team competed in the 2022 Boys Class A Tennis Tournament in Rapid City on May 16-17. “They scored 78 points, which is the highest total the boys’ team has earned in 10 years,” said Milbank’s head coach, Abbey Trapp.

Gregory Grabow was named the consolation champion in the third flight of singles. Joe Schulte took 10th place in the second flight of singles. Charles Whitesitt earned 10th place in the fourth flight. Will Snaza took 7th/8th place in the fifth flight, and Daniel Shelstad finished in 10th place in the sixth flight. In doubles competition, Isaiah Korstjens and Will Snaza were defeated in their fifth-flight semi-final match. 

Yankton took home the team title for the first time in the history of their school’s program. The Buck’s top-flight doubles pair also won Yankton’s first state title.

In the field of 13 teams, Rapid City Christian finished in second place. Mitchell was third. Sioux Falls Christian took fourth, and the Pierre Governors were fifth.
