For the first time, the 38 children from Emanuel Lutheran Preschool were joined by the four-year-old preschoolers from the American Lutheran Preschool during their annual two-day trike-a-thon at the outdoor course at Emanuel Lutheran Church.

According to Karen Tillma, director of the Emanuel Lutheran Preschool, the money raised goes to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Emanuel Lutheran preschoolers raised $1765, and the American Lutheran students had raised almost $1400.  Tillma, said, “Every penny we raise goes to the care of the children at St Jude Children’s Hospital. The hospital serves children from age zero to 18 who have been diagnosed with cancer. All expenses are covered and families never see a bill for treatment. Even transportation and meals are covered.”

“The children watched a short video each day about bike safety and colored a picture with information about safety and information about St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Deputies Jeremy Steffensen and Ryan Bakeberg  from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the trike-a-thon.
Tillma said, “This was so fun to bring the children together as most of them will be together in kindergarten next fall.” Check out our album from the event!
