The Milbank U8 baseball team competed in the 2022 Sunshine Foods Silver Slugger Tournament in Brandon Valley on June18-19. Ten teams, mostly from the Sioux Falls area made up the U8 division.
In their first game on Saturday, the Milbank team was defeated by West Lyon 0-1. In their next game, Milbank played Brandon Valley Ambush, and Milbank took the loss at 1-5.
On Sunday, the Milbank team was back in action. In the next round, the bracket forced them to face West Lyon again. Milbank dominated that game and notched the win at 7-1. The win brought Milbank up again and and pitted them against Brandon Valley Ambush. Milbank suffered the loss at 2-7.
