Valley Queen Cheese will host U.S. Senator John Thune (R-SD) at their 31st Annual Cheeseburger Day at Lake Farley Park on Thursday, June 30. Valley Queen also... Valley Queen Cheeseburger Day Tomorrow

Valley Queen Cheese will host U.S. Senator John Thune (R-SD) at their 31st Annual Cheeseburger Day at Lake Farley Park on Thursday, June 30. Valley Queen also welcomes all area residents to Cheeseburger Day in honor of Dairy Month. Serving is from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm. Senator Thune will share his thoughts on state and federal issues from noon until 12:30 p.m.

Valley Queen exports more than $15 million of dairy products each year, but reports significant delays of export shipments due to the congestion at U.S. ports. Senator Thune, along with U.S. Representative Dusty Johnson (R-SD), was instrumental in the recent passage of the Ocean Shipping Reform Act introduced in response to these problems.

According to Jason Mischel, Valley Queen Cheese Vice President of Sales and Milk Procurement, “Shipping delays risk South Dakota jobs and revenue that our state can’t afford to lose.”
