Sharon Beth (Johnston) Berglund was born on July 18, 1965, to the parents, Byron “Sonny” and Doris (Stewart) Johnston in Rolla, ND. As a child, Sharon loved the outdoors. You could always find her out on the farm or hunting with her dad. Sharon graduated from Rolla High School and attended NDSU for a year.
Sharon met her husband, Danny, and they were united in marriage on December 12, 1992. Throughout the years, Danny and Sharon enjoyed pool leagues, tending their gardens, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and cruising the countryside.
Sharon had a few jobs throughout the years from food service, running a restaurant, apartment complex manager, working at greenhouses, to being the Mayor of LaBolt, SD, and most importantly, raising her daughters: Aaron and Ashley.
Sharon had a green thumb. If she wasn’t in the house watching Fox News or cooking, you would find her in her gardens. Having a yard full of flowers brought her joy. Family time was very important to Sharon; she loved quality time and making memories along the way. Sharon loved her grandchildren very much and wore the title of “Grandma” with pride.
Left to cherish Sharon’s memory are her husband of 29 years, Daniel Berglund; children: Aaron DeCoteau of Milbank, SD; and Ashley (Nick) Torkildson of Horace, ND; two grandchildren: Madison and McKinley Torkildson of Horace, ND; along with nephews and nieces; extended family members; and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Byron “Sonny” and Doris Johnston; and brothers: Dan Johnston and Larry Johnston.
