Milbank Swimmers Capture Second at State

The 2022 South Dakota Long Course Championship Meet was hosted at the Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls on July 22-24. Nine Milbank swimmers competed and also participated in relays with the Watertown Swim Club. The Milbank swimmers helped Watertown take home the second-place team finish.
Three Milbank swimmers ranked in first and second-place in an event. TyLynn Wellnitz received first place in the 200-meter freestyle relay and second place in the 200-meter medley relay in the female 9-10 division. Thomas Bass received second place in the 50-meter backstroke in the male 11-12 division. Ryan Steffen received second place in the 200-meter freestyle relay in the male 9-10 competition.

Crosby Bass — male 8 and under, received fifth place in the 200-meter medley relay; sixth place in the 200-meter freestyle relay; ninth place in the 50-meter backstroke; 15th place in the 100-meter freestyle; and 20th place in the 50-meter freestyle.
Thomas Bass — male 11-12, received second place in the 50-meter backstroke; third place in the 200-meter freestyle relay; fifth place in the 200-meter medley relay; sixth place in the 100-meter backstroke; 12th place in the 200-mete freestyle; 13th place in the 100-meter freestyle; 14th place in the 50-meter freestyle; 19th in the 50-meter breaststroke; and 20th place in the 50-meter butterfly.
Logan Dexter — male 11-12, received third place in the 200-meter medley relay; seventh place in the 200-meter freestyle relay; eighth place in the 100-meter backstroke; 12th place in the 100-meter breaststroke; 13th place in the 50-meter backstroke; 15th place in the 50-meter breaststroke and 100-meter freestyle; 17th place in the 200-meter freestyle; and 19th place in the 50-meter freestyle.
Adrienne Korth — female 11-12, received fifth place in the 200-meter freestyle relay and sixth place in the 200-meter medley relay.
Savanna Osowski — female 17-18, received third place in the 200-meter freestyle relay, 200-meter medley relay, and 400-meter medley relay; fifth place in the 200-meter breaststroke and 100-meter breaststroke; sixth place in the 50-meter freestyle; seventh place in the 100-meter butterfly and 200 IM; eighth place in the 100-meter freestyle; and ninth place in the 400-meter freestyle relay and 200-meter freestyle.
Ryan Steffen — male 9-10, received second place in the 200-meter freestyle relay; third place in the 200-meter medley relay; 18th place in the 200-meter freestyle and 100-meter breaststroke; 19th place in the 50-meter backstroke; 25th place in the 50-meter freestyle; and 26th place in the 100-meter freestyle.
Liam Street — male 13-14, received fifth place in the 200-meter freestyle relay, 200-meter medley relay, 400-meter freestyle relay, and 400-meter medley relay; eighth place in the 200-meter backstroke; ninth in the 200-meter freestyle and 400-meter freestyle; 10th place in the 100-meter backstroke; 13th place in the 50-meter freestyle and 200 IM; and 15th place in the 100-meter freestyle.
Maurina Street — female 15-16, received third place in the 200-meter freestyle relay, 200-meter medley relay, 400-meter freestyle relay, and 400-meter medley relay; fifth place in the 100-meter breaststroke; sixth place in the 200-meteter breaststroke and 50-meter freestyle; seventh place in the 100-meter backstroke; 10th place in the 100-meter freestyle; 12th place in the 200 IM; and 14th place in the 200-meter freestyle.
TyLynn Wellnitz — female 9-10, received first place in the 200-meter freestyle relay; second place in the 200-meter medley relay; fifth place in the 50-meter freestyle; seventh place in the 50-meter backstroke and 200-meter IM; eighth place in the 100-meter backstroke 100-meter freestyle; and 200-meter freestyle.
