Kids On the Prairie Library Program Set for August 11

Round up the kids and head west to the Grant County Library. The library presents Kids on the Prairie on August 11 from 1-4 p.m.

Kids age five through seven will explore the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder. Wilder grew up on the prairies of South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota and later chronicled her family’s pioneer days in the ever popular “Little House” books.  

Kids from age eight through 11 will learn about slavery in the south during the Civil War with the 10-year-old character Addy.  Although Addy Walker was not a real person, she is an American Girl doll and the star of an American Girl series of books.

The Grant County Library is located at 207 East Park Avenue in Milbank. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
