Lady Bulldogs Tennis is in Full Swing

School is just getting started, but Lady Bulldogs tennis is already in full swing.

Triangular at Brookings

Milbank 3 vs. Brookings 6

Milbank traveled to Brookings for the first triangular of their season with Brookings and Yankton on Thursday, August 11. The Lady Gazelles of Yankton defeated the Lady Bulldogs 8-1 and the Lady Bobcats captured the win at 6-3.

In the match against Brookings, Hope Karels and Amelia Pederson each collected a victory for Milbank. Karels at No.1 defeated Camryn Vermeer, 10-9 and (7-3). Pederson at No.3 edged out Paige Foster 10-8.

Elsie Seffrood and Caitlyn Frerichs each suffered a loss at 1-10. Ashlynn Lamp was defeated 2-10, and Jenna Korstjens lost at 0-10.

In doubles play, Pederson and Lamp earned a “W” for the Lady Bulldogs at 10-9 and (9-7). Karels and Seffrood suffered a loss at 8-10. Korstjens and Frerichs went down at 2-10. In JV doubles, Hicks and Glomstad were overcome at 0-10.

Milbank 1 vs. Yankton 8 

In the match against Yankton, Jenna Korstjens brought home the lone victory for Milbank. She defeated Kara Koerner 11-9.

Hope Karels and Elsie Seffrood were each defeated, 0-10; Amelia Pederson and Caitlyn Frerichs were also each defeated at 1-10; and Ashlynn Lamp went down at 4-10.

JV players, Bri Hicks and Izabella Glomstad took a loss apiece at 0-10.

The Lady Bulldogs also struggled in doubles. The duos of Karels and Seffrood and Pederson and Lamp were both defeated 0-10. Korstjens and Frerichs took a loss at 3-10. For the JV squad, Hicks and Glomstad recorded a loss at 2-10.

Milbank 0 vs. Harrisburg 9 

On Saturday August 13, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Harrisburg.The Lady Tigers proved to be tough and Milbank suffered the loss at 0-9.The highlights of the match for the Lady Bulldogs  included Jenna Korstjens’ loss at 4-10 and Karels and Seffrood’s doubles loss at 4-10.

Milbank 2 vs. Lennox 7 

In their match against Lennox, Milbank suffered a 2-7 loss. Two Lady Bulldogs were victorious in the singles round. Hope Karels defeated Lady Oriole Madi Buehner 10-4 and Jenna Korstjens defeated Jaiden Stein 10-9 and (8-6).

Amelia Pederson and Caitlynn Frerichs each took a loss at 5-10. Elsie Seffrood went down 3-10. Amelia Pedeson was defeated  at 5-10 and Ashlynn Lamp lost at 2-10.The Lady Bulldogs were unable to post a win in doubles.

JV players, Bri Hicks and Izabella Glomstad each recorded a loss. Hicks at 5-10 and Glomstad at 1-10.

In doubles, Karels and Seffrood went down at 5-10. Pederson and Lamp were defeated at 2-10, and Korstjens and Frerichs came up short at 3-10.
