Karels and Korstjens Rack Up Wins at Roncalli

The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Aberdeen on Tuesday, August 30, to take on the Lady Cavaliers from Roncalli at the Northern State University tennis courts. MHS recorded the loss at 2-7. 

Hope Karels and Jenna Korstjens notched the two wins for Milbank. At No. 1, Karels took down Katherine Kretchman in three at 6-1, 5-7, and 10-4.  At No. 5, Korstjens defeated Keira Rivett at 6-4 and 6-1.

Elsie Seffrood fell to River Haskell at 0-6 and 1-6.  Amelia Pederson was defeated by Raley Haskell at 2-6, 6-7, and (5-7).  Ashlyn Lamp was defeated by Anna Mitzel 6-2, 4-6, and 5-10. Caitlyn Frerichs yielded to Josie Mitzel at 3-6 and 0-6.

The Lady Bulldogs were not able to carve out a win in doubles play. Karels and Seffrood went down against Kretchman and River Haskelat 1-6  and 2- 6. Pederson and Lamp lost to Raley Haskell and A. Mitzel at  2-6 and 3-6. Korstjens and Frerichs were  defeated by Rivett and J. Mitzel at 1-6 and 2- 6.
