Myron Tempel

Myron Tempel, age 64 of Wilmot, SD, passed away on September 19, 2022.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Wilmot. Rev. Dr. DeVern Schwenn will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Wilmot Cemetery.

Myron Gerald Tempel was born on June 29, 1958, in Sydney, MT. He was the son of Gerald and Mildred (Adolph) Tempel. Myron grew up in the Wilmot area and graduated from Wilmot High School. He was united in marriage with Judy Porter. They were blessed with two children: Melissa and Nathan. Myron later married Chris Holtquist on June 29, 1996.

Myron worked a variety of jobs during his lifetime. He worked as a foreman for Dale-Urevig Masonry in Watertown, SD; for Saputo Cheese in Big Stone City, SD; bin building for Whetstone Ag in Wilmot, SD; truck driver for Argo & Sons in Wilmot, SD, and for Westcon in Twin Brooks, SD, and as a road grader/plow driver for Roberts County Road Department.

Myron enjoyed horses and trail rides.  He and his family loved boating and camping. He especially loved his grandsons and would light up whenever he saw them.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Chris of Wilmot, SD; his daughter, Melissa Tempel (and fiancé, Brian Ollerich) of Marvin, SD; son, Nathan (Laura) Tempel of Wilmot, SD; grandsons: Tanner Fonder, Blake Tempel, and Coy Tempel; his mother, Mildred Tempel of Wilmot, SD; sister, Laura Lucero of Wilmot, SD; niece, Katie Tempel of Aberdeen, SD; nephews: Casey Tempel of Tea, SD; Kyle Tempel of Aberdeen, SD; and Chase Tempel of Garretson, SD. Myron was preceded in death by his father, Gerald; and brother, Craig.
