Varsity Team The Lady Bulldogs’ volleyball team faced Florence-Henry on Thursday September 15. Milbank took the loss in three at 18-25, 17-25, and 17-25.Nancy Hoeke, head coach for Milbank, said, “Florence-Henry has a very good team. Their power and fast-paced play caused us to have too many unforced errors. It’s good to play at this level of competition to know where we need to improve.”

Hallie and Rachel Schulte headed the team. H. Schulte was 10 of 10 serving and made 15 digs. R. Schulte led the attack at 20-26 with six kills. She also added 13 digs. Averie Engebretson was nine of 10 serving and had three kills, seven digs, and 15 assists.

Overall, the Lady Bulldogs were 46 of 53 serving, including two aces, for an average of 86 percent.  Addisyn Krause went 10 of 11, including one ace. She also had eight assists and 11 digs. Casside Seezs was 8 of 9 serving and also had four kills and one assisted block.

Emily Wollschlager connected on three of four serving. She added eight digs. Claire Snaza was one of two serving, including one ace. Isabella Anderson was eight for eight on the attack and made three kills. Skyler Skoog also made three kills. Rylie Overby recorded six kills and an assisted block. 

JV Team The JV volleyball team took on Florence-Henry on Thursday, September 15, in Milbank.The girls won two of the three sets with scores of 25-11, 23-25, and 15-7. 

Coach Kelli Pillatzki said, “We did good work on encouraging the team and trying different plays. We continue to work on improving our serving consistency and communication about open spots.”

Abby Pillatzki led Milbank with 11 of 12 serving with three aces and 41 of 42 setting with 10 assists. She also had 10 digs. Siera Wenzl was nine of 10 serving, with three aces. She also posted seven digs.

Rylee Scoular was 11 of 11 setting with two assists. Claire Snaza was nine of 10 hitting with five kills.  She also contributed three blocks. Isabella Anderson went 10 of 10 hitting with four kills. She also made one block. Shaylee Schuchard recorded eight of nine hitting with four kills.
Ella Sandvig added 10 digs. Hailey Zinter contributed seven digs.

Eighth-Grade Team Take Down Florence-Henry

Eighth-Grade Team The eighth-grade volleyball team hosted Summit-Waubay on September 15. The Lady Bulldogs chalked up the win at 25-12, 25-22, and 20-25.  Becky Johnson coaches the team.

Seven Grade Bulldogs Out Score Florence-Henry

Seventh-Grade Team The seventh-grade team played Florence Henry on Thursday Sept. 15th. The scores were 25 – 7, 18 -25, 25- 10 and 25 -17.  Top servers were:
*Adison Pauli with 29 of 29 with 13 aces.
*Lydia Gall with 14 of 17 with 7 aces.  And 1 kill.
*Aza Scavariel had 1 kill and Belle Pauli had 1 kill
What’s next for the Lady Bulldogs? The C, JV, and Varsity volleyball teams take on Sioux Valley on the road on Tuesday, September 20.
