The Lady Bulldogs varsity volleyball team was the runner-up in the Ipswich Tournament on Saturday, September 17. Milbank won all three of their matches in pool play, but lost 2-0 in the championship match against Kimball-White Lake.

Rachel Schulte and Addisyn Krause were chosen as All-Tournament Player recipients by the coaches of the opposing teams.

Nancy Hoeke, head coach for Milbank, commented, “Overall, the girls had a good day. We had some decent stretches where we kept scoring points and didn’t give up big runs. That is key to playing steady, consistent volleyball and raising the level of a truly competitive team.”

“Each of our 16 players got into a game for at least a few points,” Hoeke added. “It’s fun when teammates are excited for and encouraging their teammates on the court.”

Against Herreid-Selby, the Lady Bulldogs won with scores of  25-16 and 25-22. Overall, Milbank was 44 of 49 serving for 90 percent. They had six aces.
