Merik Junker and Joe and Rachel Schulte have been selected to play in the 2022 South Dakota All-State Orchestra. Junker, Veronica Fonder, and J. and R. Schulte attended the auditions, which were held in Tea on October 13.
SDHSAA announced the names of the students selected on October 14. Juniors R. Schulte, at chair 13, and J. Schulte, at chair 25, were chosen to play first violin. Junker, a senior, was selected to play general percussion at chair four.
The South Dakota All State Orchestra and Choir will perform in concert on Saturday, October 29, at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. The event begins at 7 p.m.
The students are instructed by Elizabeth Schulte, a private strings instructor, and Susan Karels, the band instructor for grades six through 12 in the Milbank School District. Mrs. Deb Rausch assists.
