Lady Bulldogs Drop Season Opener to Sisseton

The Milbank girls basketball team took the loss in their season opener against Sisseton on December 8. The final score sat at 29-62.
Maurina Street led the Lady Bulldogs with 11 points. She also claimed possession of five rebounds. Claire Snaza put up eight points for Milbank and grabbed three rebounds.
Isabella Anderson made four points and got two rebounds. Siera Wenzl contributed three points and four rebounds. Josie Riveland added two points and two rebounds. Tyra Berry made one point and fielded one rebound. Rylee Scoular, Ellie Neugebauer, and Ella Sandvig each added a rebound.

Milbank struggled to produce points and hit just nine of 36 from the field for 25 percent. They recorded 50 percent from the charity stripe by connecting on 11 of 22.
Sisseton had three players in double figures. Emmalee Nielsen led with 13 and Chloe and Krista Langager each recorded 10. Sisseton hit 24 of 55 for 44 percent and four of 16 three-point shots for 25 percent. From the line, the Lady Redmen were 10 of 15 for nearly 67 percent.

What’s next for the Lady Bulldogs? Milbank travels to Lennox to take on the Orioles on Saturday, December 10.
