The Lady Bulldogs zipped past the Lady Wambdi, 69-38, on January 10 at Agency Village. Milbank used stellar shooting from three key players to take the win. Tyra Berry pocketed 19 points and made three rebounds. Maurina Street powered in 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Isabella Anderson put up 14 points. She added one rebound.
The offense was also bolstered by eight points from Siera Wenzl and five from Josie Riveland. Claire Snaza, Anna Neugebauer, and Ellie Neugebauer each hit a field goal. Emily Wollschlager dropped in a free throw.
As a team, Milbank hit 78 percent from the charity stripe and 52 percent overall. Tiospa Zina hit 34 percent of their shots and 50 percent from the line.
Street and Berry led Milbank’s defense, but they were assisted by A. Neugebauer, who grabbed two rebounds, and Wenzl, Anderson, Snaza, Riveland, and Jenna Dexter. The quintet controlled one apiece. Brian Pauli serves as the head coach of the Lady Bulldogs.
Tiospa Zina’s Kenadee Bissonette did the heavy lifting for the Lady Wambdi. She dumped in nine buckets, including two three-pointers, and had a total of 21 ticks — over half of the Wambdi’s 38 points. Alexia Quinn contributed 10. Jaia Bursheim counted seven.
