The Lady Bulldogs ruled the court in Sioux Falls on Saturday, January 28. Milbank has been riding a winning streak, and they extended it to eight in a row when they dismantled Dakota Valley of North Sioux City, 53-43, on neutral ground at Augustana University.

Tyra Berry racked up 17 points for the Lady Bulldogs, including a three-pointer. She added three rebounds and a steal. Maurina Street posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. She pulled off three steals.  Isabella Anderson put up 13 points and added five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Siera Wenzl made one three-point shot, four rebounds, and three steals. Claire Snaza recorded three points, two rebounds, and one block. Josie Riveland landed a free throw.

As a team, Milbank hit 39 percent of their shots from the floor and 27 percent from beyond the arc. They downed 13 of their 19 free throws for 69 percent. Berry dropped in eight of her nine attempts from the line.
Ella Reifenrath of Dakota Valley led the Lady Panthers with 19 points. She added five rebounds. Jorga Van den Hul hauled down nine rebounds to go with her six points. Melina Snoozy made eight points. Emma Wiese had five. Emersen Mead made two free throws.

The Lady Panthers finished with a 29 percent shooting average, including 27 percent from long range.They were perfect at the free throw line at 11 of 11.

Milbank now sits at 9-4 this season. They rank second in Region 1 at  4-1 just behind Sisseton. Brian Pauli is the head coach for the Lady Bulldogs. Tony Howard, Eric Townsend, and Kelli Pillatzki serve as assistant coaches. 

What’s next for the Lady Bulldogs?  Milbank hosts Hamlin — the No. 1 Class A team in the state  with a 13-game winning streak. Should be a barn burner! Don’t miss it tonight, Monday, January 30, at the Milbank Armory. It’s a doubleheader, so get there early to watch all the games. Tonight is also Pink Night.
