The Bulldogs took a loss to Hamlin on Tuesday, January 30, at the Milbank Armory. Hamlin was perfect in Northeast Conference play going into the game and after..At 10-3 for the season overall, the Chargers brought some high-level competition to the arena. Milbank ended up posting the “L” at 35-63.

 Justus Osborn led the Bulldogs with 13 points and two rebounds. Jaxson Wildung put up nine points, brought down four rebounds, and maneuvered a steal. Garrett Mertens added six points and a rebound. Yohanna Ajwanga made four points and two rebounds. Joe Schulte stayed in the game for only seven minutes, but he took control of three rebounds. Emmett Hanson made a field goal and Eli Johnson hit a free throw. Jack Howard contributed a rebound.

Brennan Keszler scored 16 points for the Chargers. Easton Neuendorf added 14 points and six rebounds. Tyson Stevenson and Jackson Wadsworth each recorded 11 points. 

The Bulldogs shot 34 percent from the floor. The Chargers finished at 48 percent. Milbank outdid the Chargers from long range. They finished at 30 percent to Hamlin’s 26 percent. The Dawgs also beat the Chargers at the charity stripe at 59 percent to 57 percent.

JV Game

Milbank 31 vs. Hamlin 40

The Bulldogs’ JV team took a 31-40 loss against the Hamlin Chargers on Tuesday, January 30, in Milbank. Emmett Hanson dropped in six points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs. Bryan Meyer hit eight points and two rebounds. Ryan Keeton made six points along with a rebound. Este Abrego-Gonzalez scored six points and five rebounds. Jack Howard made two points and five rebounds. Josh Pederson added three points and a rebound.

The Bulldogs connected on 27 percent of their shots from the floor and dropped in 50 percent of their attempts from the free throw line.

Hamlin made 38 percent of their shots, including 41 percent from three-point range. They downed five of their six free throws for 83 percent.

C-Team Game

Milbank 43 vs. Hamlin 25

The C-team got the only win for the Bulldogs, when they faced Hamlin on January 30 in Milbank. Este Abrego-Gonzalez led the way for the Dawgs with 10 points and two rebounds. Ryan Keeton made nine points. Braylen Bowsher added five points. 

Garrett Weber, Jack Howard, and Howie Zemlicka added four points apiece. Howard also grabbed two rebounds. Ethan Owen put in three points. Layten Osowski and Greg Grabow recorded two points. Osowski, Owen and Charlie Perry all ruled a rebound.

The Bulldogs shot 47.5 percent from the floor, including 29 percent from beyond the arc. They completed three of their 10 free shots for 30 percent.

The Chargers hit one of three of their field goals by dropping in 10 of 30. They downed three of 11 from long range for 27 percent. The Bulldogs gave them only three chances at the free throw line. They made two.
