Wrestlers Finish in Top-Seven Places at Brookings Invite

Six MHS wrestlers braved the weather on Saturday January 28 to compete in the 2023 Les Tlustos-Brookings Invitational. Owen Fischer received the highest place finish for the Bulldogs. He earned third place when he pinned Jacob Mason of Pierre at 2:42. 

Pierre dominated the match by piling up 287.5 points. The Governors’ closest rival was West Central with 172.5 points. Canby took third with 169 points. Milbank just missed the top-ten teams. They landed in 11th place with 73 points.

Along with Fischer’s third-place win, Jacob Johnson and Landon Novy each brought home fourth place. Brayden Christenson garnered sixth place in his weight class, and Jesse Schneck and Dillen Sheeley each collected seventh place honors.
