Lady Bulldogs Trounce the Lady Trojans

The wind gusted to 55 mph outside the Ortonville gym on Thursday night, February 9. Inside, the Lady Bulldogs sailed to 53-23 victory over the Lady Trojans. Isabella Anderson and Maurina Street put up a combined total of 37 points  Anderson scored 20 points and added eight rebounds and a steal. Street posted another double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. She also pitched in for five steals.

Tyra Berry made five points, three rebounds, and two steals. Siera Wenzl  pulled down seven rebounds and two steals. She also dropped in a free throw. Claire Snaza recorded four points, two rebounds, a block, and two steals. 

Ellie Neugebauer made three points. Emily Wollschlager added two points and a rebound. Josie Riveland downed a free throw and one rebound. Ella Sandvig nabbed three rebounds. Jenna Dexter claimed two.

The Lady Bulldogs hit 38 percent of their shots from the floor, including 18 percent from long range. Milbank sank 12 of 20 from the line for 60 percent.
Kendall Gronholz was Ortonville’s leading scorer. She put up 15. Kadyn Gronholz followed with six. Lily Streich added two. Kadyn Gronholz and Emma Anderson each grabbed three rebounds. Chloe Rabe had two rebounds. Megan Strong had one.

The Lady Trojans hit 20.5 percent of their shots, including five of 15 from beyond the arc. They went 12 of 20 from the free throw line for 60 percent.  

What’s next for the Lady Bulldogs?  Milbank hosts a doubleheader with Tri-Valley on Saturday afternoon, February 11. The Lady Mustangs (8-11) are coming off a 55-51 win against Lennox on Thursday night.
