The public is invited to attend the 32nd Annual Piano Festival on Sunday, February 26 at 1:30 p.m. in the Milbank High School theater. There is no charge for admission.
This year’s festival features Shawn Stemsrud. Shawn is a graduate of MHS and SDSU. He is currently the music director for the Prairie Repertory Theater, the director of music ministry at Faith Reformed Church, and the head vocal music director at Mickelson Middle School in Brookings. He will perform two pieces – “Ivory Hymn” and “Shenandoah.” Shawn is the son of Steve and Robin Stemsrud.
Student performers include Savannah Berg, Maddie Dashiell, Kami Dashiell, Natalie Thaden, Priya Zemlicka, Macy Mueller, Dezirae Stahl, Leticia Stahl, Isabelle Karels, Lydia Gall, Hadassah Kauffman, and Addie Farrell.
The annual Piano Festival is sponsored by the Milbank Area Piano Teachers. It is designed to showcase the talents of area musicians and encourage them in their studies.
