Margaret Lindberg, age 79, of Milbank passed away on February 23, 2023.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday morning, one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery. Father Gary DeRouchey will celebrate the Mass.

Margaret Rose (Boruta) Lindberg was born on June 14, 1943, in Milbank, SD. She was the daughter of Theodore “Ted” and Margaret Elizabeth (Carlin) Boruta. She grew up in Milbank and attended school in Milbank.

Margaret was blessed with nine children. She was a wonderful mother and her children loved her dearly. Her favorite meal was “soup and sandwich”.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was a hardworking lady. In addition to caring for her children, she worked as a waitress at the Lantern Inn and worked special banquets there and at the Milbank Country Club. She also worked at Hill Top Café in Ortonville. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed watching wrestling and going to rummage sales. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, even if it was camping close to home. She loved animals, especially birds and kitties. She was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Debbie (Don) Stengel of Aberdeen, SD; Daniel Pies of LaBolt, SD; Dale (Jodi) Lindberg of Sioux Falls, SD; Doug (Sam) Lindberg of Big Stone City, SD; Dennis (Hope) Lindberg of Strandburg, SD; dear friend, Tim Loehrer of Milbank, SD; 21 grandchildren: Brittany, Nicki, Daniel Jr., Taylar, Kendra, Shellia, Jesse, Katie, Morgan, Jared, Doug Jr., Desiree, Devon, Kelsey, Gracie, Halie, Ridge, Ashley, William, Lillian, and Noah; 11 great-grandchildren: Sophia, Alana, Ashlynn, Zaedyn, Carson, Skylar, Aries, Jaxxsen, Brady, Roczyn, and Raelynn.

 She was preceded in death by her parents: Ted and Margaret Boruta;  four sons: Baby Pies, Donald Lindberg, David Lindberg, and Rick Pies; and granddaughter, Makenzie Pies.
