Schulte and Mertens Named to All-Conference Teams

Joe Schulte (No. 11) and Garrett Mertens (No. 5), both juniors on the Bulldogs varsity basketball team, were named to  2023 NEC All-Conference Teams. Mertens was selected as one of the five members of the second team and Schulte was chosen for the third team. Mertens averaged 14.1 points per game and Schulte 12.4. Mertens’ average was the fifth highest of the 15 players selected. He also accrued the third highest average for assists. Schulte averaged 6.7 rebounds — the highest for any of the 15 players selected for the three teams.
