David Dashiell, age 75, of Twin Brooks, SD, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Wilmot. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Osceola #1 Cemetery in Marvin, SD.

David Adams Dashiell was born on January 24, 1948, in Brainerd, MN, to Newton, Jr. and Marian (Gray) Dashiell. He grew up in Richfield, MN, and attended school there graduating with the Class of 1966.

Following high school, David enlisted in the United States Navy and served from August of 1966 to August of 1970. He was honorably discharged in 1970 and made his home in Rockford, MN.

On July 28, 1973, David was united in marriage with Teresa Hicks in Wilmot, SD. The two made their home in Rockford for two more years.

David and Terri moved to Phoenix, AZ, in 1975 and resided there until 1981 and in 1981, they made their final move to Twin Brooks, SD.

David made his living doing everything from auto mechanic to carpentry. He also was a beekeeper, worked for Grant County, SD, and for Wells Fargo Bank. David was a member of Zion Community Church in Wilmot, SD, for many years.

Left to cherish David’s memory are his wife of 50 years, Terry Dashiell of Twin Brooks, SD; son, Adam (Jeanine) Dashiell of Milbank, SD; daughter, Marea (Chris) Waldner of Stockholm, SD; two granddaughters: Kamille Dashiell, and Madelyn Dashiell; brother, Thomas (Marilyn) Dashiell of Lake Barrington, IL; brothers-in-law: James (Deb) Hicks of Wilmot, SD; Michael (Michelle) Hicks of Marvin, SD; and Patrick (LaDonna) Hicks of Twin Brooks, SD; sister-in-law, Susan (Brian) Buttke of Corona, SD; along with 17 nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; parents-in-law, Russell and Mavis Hicks; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Eiring.
