Milbank’s Special Olympics basketball teams competed in the state Special Olympics basketball tournament at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls on Saturday and Sunday, March 25-26. Over 60 teams and 900 athletes participated.

The Milbank schoolers team brought home third place and the adult team took fourth place. In addition, Reese Schuneman received the Spirit-Sportsmanship Award.

During the tournament, each team played four games. Throughout the weekend, the players were also involved in a variety of activities such as swimming and a dance on Saturday night. On Friday night, the team took part in the opening ceremonies at the Skyforce game. The Sioux Falls Skyforce is a professional basketball team in the NBA G League based in Sioux Falls and affiliated with the Miami Heat.
