The Bulldogs of MHS host their annual alumni basketball tournament for 2023 this Saturday, April 8, and it’s already setting records! Logan Diede, founder and organizer of the event, says, “This year we have a total of 70 participants — a new record.”
The number includes 47 men and 23 women. The women are embarking on their second annual tournament, and the men’s tourney, which started in 2019, heads into its fourth year. (No tournament was held in 2020.) Diede says he has the teams separated as much as possible by era, which breaks down to six teams in the men’s bracket and two teams in the women’s bracket.
Doors open at the Milbank Armory at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 8. Games start at 10 a.m. and observe a rolling schedule. No admission is charged. A free will donation will be accepted near the armory entrance. Fans who prefer to donate by a check, can make it payable to the Bulldog Booster Club.
Diede emphasizes, “Fans are welcome and encouraged to attend.” As always, Diede, who serves as the head coach for the Milbank High School boys basketball team, says, “Go Bulldogs!”
