The MHS boys tennis team hosted their first home match of the season at Cantine Courts in Milbank on April 25. The Bulldogs trounced Pipestone 7-2. Abbey Trapp, head coach for Milbank, said,  “The Bulldogs pulled off an incredible win over Pipestone!” 

Milbank had the edge on the Arrows in the singles round at 5-1, and took the doubles round at 2-1. Joe Schulte at No. 1 in singles for the Bulldogs defeated Lucas Zupp 10-5. Greg Grabow took a loss for Milbank, but went the distance at 10-9 (7-5) against Makhi Winter. Will Snaza defeated Cody Norberg 10-2. Charles Whitesitt defeated Chase Wilson 10-1. Isaiah Korstjens defeated Matthew Swenson 10-1, and Dan Shelstad defeated Brady Dunn 10-3.

In doubles play, Schulte and Snaza defeated Zupp and Norberg 10-4. Grabow and Whitesitt battled Winter and Wilson, but went down at 10-9 (7-4). Korstjens and Will Muellenbach defeated Swenson and Dunn 10-1.

What’s next for the Bulldogs? Milbank travel to Watertown on Saturday, April 28, for the Watertown Jamboree. Keep up with The Valley Express for the results of that match. The Bulldogs go back on the road to take on the Eagles of Aberdeen Central on Tuesday, May 2.
