Whetstone Valley Strings students presented a recital on Sunday, April 23, at Living Word Lutheran Church. Elizabeth Schulte, their strings teacher, directed the musicians.

Students performed sacred selections and classical solos from Suzuki Books 1-3. The Tschetter and Olson families played “All Glory Laud and Honor.” The Fonder and Schulte families presented “Concerto in D Major for Four Violins” by G. P. Telemann. Students performed together for “Shady Grove,” “Three Irish Polkas,” and “Fiddle Twinkle.” Chris Hicks joined the group on guitar.

Sabine Hicks, Alana Wipf, and Jessica Wipf received trophies for their Book 1 graduation.  Rosa Olson performed the graduation piece from Suzuki Cello Book 3.  Rosa, a five-year student at Whetstone Valley Strings, was recognized as a senior performing her last recital. She was presented with a canvas of “The Musician’s Prayer,” designed by Street Graphex.

Students Krista Gingerich, Cindy Moen, Rachel Schulte, and Jewel Waldner were unable to attend. The recital was recorded by Dave Schulte.
