Big Stone Library Sets New Hours

The Big Stone City Branch Library will be open new hours on Wednesdays starting on May 3. The library will be open from noon until 6 p.m. Open hours on Saturdays will remain the same 9 a.m. until 1 pm. The Big Stone City Branch Library is located on the south side of the Big Stone City Community Center at 400 Washington Street. 

Several events in May will help fund the 2023 Summer Reading Program for children: Bid on silent auction baskets already on view at Minnwest Bank in Big Stone City,  Avera Clinic in Big Stone City, the Big Stone City School office, and the Big Stone City Branch Library. The themed baskets feature beach and pool items. Kitchen miscellaneous and women’s cosmetics, to name a few. The baskets were created by the members of the Chapter One Book Club, and proceeds go to the summer reading program.

An in-house book sale will be conducted during the month of May at the library during regular library hours. The money from the book sale will help fund supplies and prizes for the summer reading program.
