Jeffrey “Merm” Mark Seezs, age 62 of Revillo, SD, passed away unexpectedly on May 23, 2023.

A celebration of life will be held at Charlies in Revillo on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Jeffrey “Merm” Mark Seezs was born on June 6, 1960, in Milbank, SD, to Harvey and Christina (Cramer) Seezs. He attended Grant Deuel high school, where he participated in wrestling and earned the nickname “Merm” and graduated with the Class of 1978.

Jeff grew up in Milbank, SD, until the age of eight, then lived in LaBolt, SD, until he enlisted in the United States Airforce after graduation. He was honorably discharged from the Airforce in 1982, and continued working in Altus, OK, as a civilian for another six years. After returning, he was a pipeline worker in Minnesota, he worked at the Foundry in Madison, MN, until it closed, and cut trees for Kevin’s Tree Service. In 2015, he began employment with Saputo Cheese in Big Stone City. Jeff was never afraid of hard work, often times going above and beyond to help others. He would give you the shirt off his back.

Jeff was united in marriage to Jodi (Poel) on August 27, 1994, and to this union their son, Cody, was born. He was proud to be Cody’s father. Jeff and Jodi later divorced and he moved to Revillo, SD.

Jeff was a kid at heart; always had a smile on his face. He could be found gaming with the neighbor kids on the Wii game console. He enjoyed time on the lake fishing, especially in the winter, ice fishing. He also liked to have a cold Pabst beer and spend time with friends at Charlie’s.

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his son, Cody of Miller, SD; sisters: Cindy (Jim) Liebe of Marietta, MN; and Deb Peschong of Milbank, SD; brothers: Randy (Deb) Seezs of Mitchell, SD; and Tim (Brenda) Seezs of Baltic, SD; special friend, Michelle of Revillo, SD; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Christina; and niece, Jennifer (Liebe) Adolph-Plank.
