Powered by a blaze of offense, the Firechiefs smoked the Ramona Express 21-0 on Saturday, June 17, at Pribyl Park. Milbank put up 16 hits to fuel the 21 runs Taylor Boerger struck out the side in the top of the first and then got help from his team in the bottom of the first. Kaden Krause led off with a walk. Kellen Hoeke followed with an infield single. Brady Krause hit his first of three doubles to left field to score them both. The Firechiefs were off to an early 2-0 lead.

Dom Boerger drew a walk and Mitch Quade connected for a single to load the bases. Jesse Krause singled to left to push B. Krause and D. Boerger across the plate and move the score to 4-0. Quade scored on a wild pitch. J. Krause also scored on an error by Ramona’s third baseman to cap a big inning for Milbank.

T. Boerger struck out another two batters in the top of the second and got more help from his offense in the bottom of the inning. Hoeke drew a walk, followed by a double from B. Krause to put runners on second and third. D. Boerger was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Quade. Quade was also hit by a pitch. The score moved to 7-0. J. Krause kept the streak going when he was hit by a pitch. Milbank led  8-0. Brady Femling drew a walk. The score moved to  9-0. Tyler Krause singled to left  to make it 10-0 when he scored Quade. K. Krause scored J. Krause with a sacrifice fly to center. The score sat at11-0 in favor of the Firechiefs. T. Boerger again fanned the side in the top of the third to put another goose egg in the scoring column for the visitors. He also acquired eight strikeouts in the three innings. 

B. Krause started another explosion in the bottom of the third when he singled to center. Next up, D. Boerger was hit by a pitch for the second time. Quade drew a walk to load the bases. J. Krause scored B. Krause when he grounded out to the first baseman. Femling singled to right to score D. Boerger and Quade. Milbank’s score mushroomed to 14-0. T. Boerger doubled to center to score Femling and put the Chiefs up 15-0. 

The locals continued to pour it on! K. Krause scored T. Boerger on an error by Ramona’s left fielder. Milbank led 16-0. Hoeke singled to move K. Krause to third.  B. Krause scored him with a double to left. The scoreboard sat at 17-0. 

D. Boerger scored Hoeke with a single to right.  Milbank was ahead 18-0. Quade drove B. Krause home with a single to right to add another click at 19-0 with two outs. Merik Junker pulled off a pinch-hit single, and Femling followed him with another single to score D. Boerger. The Firechiefs were out of control at  20-0. 

Milbank added their final run In the bottom of the fourth.  B. Krause nailed his fifth hit of the day to left field to score D. Boerger who had reached base on a fielder’s choice. The Firechiefs had drenched  Ramona and they could not be revived at 21-0.On the mound for Milbank, T. Boerger allowed zero runs through five innings of work. He struck out 12. B. Krause collected five hits and three RBIs. Hoeke, Femling, and Quade  added two hits each to Milbank’s total of 16.
